About Farnborough

Farnborough, a town of 56,000 people, lies in the heart of the Blackwater Valley, a successful commercial region. The town is home to a number of major employers, including a cluster of nationally important aerospace research and development companies, together with computer science and telecommunications companies. Farnborough also hosts the Farnborough International Airshow, held on the site of the birthplace of flying and aeronautical research in Britain.

Farnborough is also conveniently situated in northeast Hampshire and near the boundary with Surrey. The River Blackwater forms part of the boundary. It is located 34 miles southwest of London and 16 miles east of Basingstoke, directly to the south of junction 4 of the M3 motorway. The town lies at the centre of the Blackwater Valley conurbation, which includes Aldershot, Camberley, Yateley, Sandhurst, Frimley and Farnham.

Farnborough's suburban areas include Southwood, Cove, Farnborough Park, Farnborough Street, West Heath, North Camp and South Farnborough.

Farnborough Town is also undergoing major development, with new businesses opening and more homes being built its popularity is only guaranteed to grow.

North Camp itself was the original Victorian town centre for Farnborough for many years and is surrounded with a mixture of grand Victorian properties, cottages and more recently built apartments and homes. North Camp village is well known for having a variety of independent and specialist businesses and has a great all round village feel. Surrounded by good schools and amenities and full of desirable and popular residential areas it’s a great place to live and to run a business!
